A Brief History Of This Place.

The purchase of an industrial property involves a very thorough title search of the property that yields much history and many unknowns. In the late 1840's a gentleman named Silas Belden purchased a 100 acre plot from the Connecticut Western Reserve Land Company. He developed these acres per the city of Cleveland plan and laid out many streets. At that time all streets had names and what would become East 45th Street was Belden Street. In the 1800's the area was entirely residential. In the early 1900's as Cleveland became a manufacturing hub the Republic Brass Company built a factory on Belden Street. After world war 2 they felt the need to expand their facility and purchased four lots to the north and demolished the houses and constructed the building we have today. The original Republic Brass building still exists but is not part of the Belden Building property. By 2022 when we purchased the building it had sat vacant for many years. While it was in terrible condition we saw that it was very sound structurally and that it could become a great asset to the community. The mechanical systems of the building have been replaced and it is ready to foster the next generation of creators in this great city.
